Invisalign Orthodontic Treatment in Vaughan, Woodbridge, Toronto, and Scarborough

INVISALIGN is a popular way to straighten teeth and correct bites without the look of braces. It uses clear aligners the patient trades out about every two weeks rather than traditional metal or ceramic braces. Clear aligners are barely visible and so they are sometimes called invisable braces.

Being able to provide INVISALIGN is an option that not every orthodontist can provide. It requires special training and knowledge to provide treatments. Tasios Orthodontics is proud to be one of the orthodontist practices that offer this option to both teenagers and adults in Toronto, Vaughan, Woodbridge, and Scarborough. We are Diamond providers, meaning we are among the best orthodontist centers to offer INVISALIGN.

How Does Invisalign® Orthodontic Treatment Work?

INVISALIGN is a great choice for those with simple teeth correction and bite problems in Toronto, Vaughan, Woodbridge, and Scarborough. It works with sets of clear aligner trays you are given during your treatment. You wear the aligners for about two weeks and then switch to the next series of trays.

Those using INVISALIGN will need to wear the aligners 22 hours a day. Treatment times range between six and 18 months, depending on the case.

The aligners are removed to eat, brush, and floss. They will also need to be cleaned daily. Orthodontic visits are quick because the orthodontist simply checks progress without needing to make adjustments as they do with braces.

The clear aligners reposition teeth over time by gently moving them as you exchange one tray for another.

Who Can Use INVISALIGN?

INVISALIGN can be used by both teens and adults. Those who choose this option prefer it because the look and comfort are better than braces. However, INVISALIGN can’t be used by everyone as it corrects basic bite and teeth problems. Patients who have more complicated orthodontic issues aren’t eligible for clear aligners.

Those eligible for INVISALIGN must be committed to the treatment process of wearing the clear aligners daily for the times recommended by their orthodontist. Those interested in this treatment should talk to their orthodontist about eligibility.

Four Steps to Getting the
Perfect Smile with INVISALIGN

Orthodontist evaluation needed for you

Scheduling a Consultation

The orthodontist needs to evaluate your teeth and mouth to see if you are eligible to get INVISALIGN. You will need to get digital X-rays and an exam. The orthodontist will then go over your options discuss how INVISALIGN works and explain the commitment to the treatment.

Invisalign trays

Customizing the Trays

Getting INVISALIGN trays that fit your mouth properly is crucial for successful treatment. Your orthodontist will use modern technology to ensure the clear aligner trays fit properly. You will be given the trays with instructions on how to use them, when to change them out, and how to clean them.

Invisalign plan follows orthodontist's instructions

Wearing the Aligners

The most important part of an INVISALIGN treatment plan is following your orthodontist’s instructions regarding wearing the aligners for 22 hours a day. They must be consistently worn to be effective. Regular visits to the orthodontist are needed to ensure that progress is being made. You can call your orthodontist with questions or problems should your aligners start to feel uncomfortable, become damaged, or be lost.

Invisalign After-Care

After-Care with INVISALIGN

You will need to maintain your smile after your INVISALIGN treatments are over. Sometimes, teeth try to shift back for a while after aligners or braces are off. That’s why your orthodontist will give you a retainer to wear to prevent shifting. You may need some follow-up visits with your orthodontist to ensure your teeth stay straight.

Common Questions About INVISALIGN

Is INVISALIGN better than braces?

INVISALIGN is an option to braces. Both treatments are effective for straightening teeth and correcting bite issues. Those who choose INVISALIGN want a more discreet orthodontic option than braces allow.

INVISALIGN straightens teeth as braces do but uses an aligner tray system rather than metal brackets and wires. The effectiveness of INVISALIGN depends on your commitment to wearing them.

Is INVISALIGN comfortable?

Most find INVISALIGN clear aligners comfortable to wear. There may be some discomfort in the beginning or when you switch trays until your mouth is used to wearing them.

The one issue to be aware of is clear aligners can make it awkward to speak until you get accustomed to them. It is something in your mouth that you must adjust to wearing. Adjustment times are typically only a few days to a week.

What can INVISALIGN Fix?

Invisalign can fix crowded or mispositioned teeth, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. It can fix gaps between teeth too.
